About the workshop

Born and raised deep in the heart of Arkansas, Austin Vanderveer developed a love for building things from an early age. From constructing bicycle ramps in his backyard as a child to crafting picnic tables in high school, Austin’s passion for woodworking has always been a part of who he is. That same drive followed him into college, where he built custom furniture on the side to help get by. In 2016, Austin and his wife Hanna purchased their first home, and when they couldn't find the right furniture, Austin got to work. What started as a few pieces for their own space quickly grew into something more, Heritage Woodwork was born. Since then, Austin has brought his craftsmanship to a wide range of projects, from large outdoor sculptures and timeless dining tables to commercial installations and fully built-out restaurants. His work has even been featured on HGTV, a testament to the attention to detail and artistry that defines every piece he creates. Rooted in faith, craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for timeless design, Heritage Woodwork has grown steadily over the years. Austin credits every step of that journey to God’s provision and grace, and he’s committed to building more than just furniture, he’s building a legacy. As Austin continues to craft each piece with care and purpose, he knows one thing for sure: the best is yet to come.
